KLAL (Keep Living and Learning), meaning community in Hebrew, is the basis of our new special needs young adult summer program. Participants will give back to their community while learning life skills to build their own community. This new self-contained camp program is for young adults ages 16-24 with learning, developmental, social, emotional and physicial disabilites. Campers will participate in typical camp activities such as swimming, kick ball, art, nature, dance, TaeBo and games. A Life Skills specialist will lead a vocational program twice a week and teach campers lessons such as laundry, cooking, making a bed, and setting a table. There will be a weekly Mitzvah project preparing crafts or songs for the elderly. The program will also have a camper run café for family members and JCC staff.
