The JCC has long been a cornerstone of community, bringing people together through programs that inspire connection, wellness, and personal growth. For Linda Rabinovich, the J has been more than just a workplace—it’s been a lifelong home. As a dedicated yoga instructor since 2014 and now a member of the Marketing Department, Linda brings passion, creativity, and a deep appreciation for the JCC’s mission. In this interview, she shares what excites her about this new chapter, the best career advice she’s received, and a few fun facts along the way.
What drew you to the J and made you excited about working here?
I was drawn to the J because it’s such an integral part of the community, offering a welcoming space where people of all ages, backgrounds, and interests come together. The JCC has been a part of my life since early childhood—from preschool to today, I’ve always felt connected to this community. My new role in the Marketing Department is an exciting addition to my journey here, complementing my work as a yoga instructor since 2014. I’m looking forward to engaging with the community in new ways, fostering relationships, and supporting the JCC’s mission in a broader capacity.
What is one thing every new employee should know when joining the team at the J?
One important thing every new employee should know is that this is a supportive, warm, and welcoming workplace. Everyone here is on your team, and you’ll find that people genuinely want you to succeed and grow.
Can you share a fun fact about yourself that most people wouldn’t guess just by looking at you?
I love playing board games and doing puzzles! Most people wouldn’t guess, but I can be pretty competitive—especially when it comes to games like Yahtzee and Rummikub. As for puzzles, I can easily spend hours working on them. I love the challenge and the satisfaction of seeing a project come together.
If you could instantly master any skill or area of expertise, what would it be?
I’ve always wished I could sing beautifully. That would be an amazing skill—or rather, a talent—to have!
What is the best piece of career advice you’ve ever received?
Be humble. The best career advice I’ve ever received, which also applies to life in general, is to stay humble. To me, that means cultivating a growth mindset—being curious, asking questions, assuming the best in people and situations, and viewing mistakes as opportunities to learn and improve.
Linda’s enthusiasm and dedication to the JCC shine through in everything she does. Whether she’s leading a yoga class or bringing fresh ideas to the Marketing Department, her commitment to community and personal growth is truly inspiring.
