Mind & Body exercises use breathing, focus and simple movements to help to increase flexibility, and reduce stress. Exercises like Yoga and Tai Chi can also help to:

  • Decrease pain and discomfort
  • Decrease anxiety and enhance sleep
  • Strengthen the immune system and enhance the ability to heal
  • Increase sense of control and well-being

These classes are complementary with a JCC membership unless stated otherwise. Select classes are available to guests for a fee. Fee-based classes require pre-registration.

Gentle Yoga

A nurturing practice with gentle and deliberate movement, breathing, guided relaxation, and supported pose(s) to increase flexibility, balance, and wellbeing.

Therapeutic Yoga

This type of yoga uses props and modifications to help with flexibility, stability, and strength. Appropriate for anyone to reduce pain & promote healing.

Restorative Yoga

Supported, gentle yoga. Postures are assisted using blankets, blocks, and straps. You will stretch and restore your base-line flexibility. Perfect for beginners and people with very tight muscles.

Pilates Sculpt/Core

A mind and body exercise designed to lengthen and tone the entire body. Pilates focuses on the core muscles creating flat abs and a strong back. It will help you gain strength, balance, and flexibility.

BODYFLOW™

Tai Chi - PH

Tai Chi is gentle, focusing on fluid, circular movements that are relaxed and slow in tempo. Breathing is deep and slow, aiding concentration, relaxing the body and allowing the life force, or chi as it is known in Chinese, to flow throughout the body. Instructor: Kathy Reid. 13 weeks.
