Early Learning Center

After careful consideration, review of the Maryland State Recovery Plan, and consultation with local and national medical experts and camping associations, the Early Learning Center and J Camps are preparing for a modified 2020 camp season starting July 6, 2020. This year, Summer at the J combines the Camp Ami and Noah's Ark programs into one joint preschool offering, as a great way for little ones ages 2-5 to have a safe, fun summer experience in small groups. Available Monday-Friday from 9:00am-3:30pm, only at the Rosenbloom Owings Mills campus. Contact Kim Davidson to learn more.

Located in Owings Mills, MD, and in the Upper Park Heights neighborhood of Baltimore City, MD, the JCC of Greater Baltimore’s Stoler Early Learning Center (ELC) and Meyerhoff ELC provide so much more than a preschool! We provide care from Infant/Toddler through Preschool (ages 3 months to 5 years). Your journey begins when you register your child at our Early Learning Programs: your family becomes our family. You’ll be a part of the entire community and the J. Beyond our learning centers we also offer an array of Baby & Me classes in addition to afterschool and weekend enrichment programs.

Our Week
View info

Our schedule is structured, yet flexible and provides for a variety of experiences, levels of difficulty, and pacing.

Teachers allow time for individual and small group learning (such as blocks, manipulatives, books, dramatic play, art, and science) as well as whole class activities (such as morning meeting, music, stories, and movement).

A balance of indoor and outdoor activities as well as active and calm activities is incorporated into the program each day.

Child-initiated learning is blended with teacher-guided activities for a comprehensive educational experience.

Our Teachers
View info

At the core of our program are excellent teachers who understand that the early years of life are the most critical in forming a child’s opinion of himself or herself. Our staff’s goal is to create an enriched environment full of excitement and encouragement. As a result every child develops a love of learning and a feeling of self-worth as an individual and as a member of a group. The teachers put theory into practice recognizing that each child enters the classroom with a unique set of skills, strengths, and needs. That’s why we individualize our teaching styles to meet the needs of each and every child. We consider ourselves to be partners with our parents. Enhancing your child’s confidence and curiosity through creative engagement is what we do – everyday!

Healthy Choices
View info

Our Healthy Choices curriculum has been recognized by Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move! Child Care Initiative for Exceptional Work in the Prevention of Childhood Obesity. This program teaches children ages 2 to 5 about the importance of eating fruits and vegetables, whole grains and healthy proteins. Every week our students have the opportunity to taste new foods like kale, quinoa, and kiwi. Daily physical activity also serves as a critical component of this program.
