The occupation of lifeguard encompasses the duties of rescuing swimmers in danger of drowning, the monitoring of activities at a swimming pool to prevent accidents, the teaching of water safety through the communication of rules and policies, and providing assistance to patrons. Lifeguards may also help to maintain order and cleanliness in the pool and pool areas, give instructions to swimmers, conduct or officiate at swimming meets, and administer first aid. Additional ancillary lifeguard duties may include checking in and out such items as towels, rings, watches and apparel to lost and found. Lifeguards must be able to use a ladder to access and descend from the lifeguard chair; use hand tools to clean the pool and pool area; and test and record water quality for temperature and/or pH levels, using all of the tools of the testing process including adding chemicals to the test water sample.

The safety and experience of all members is the top priority of the Staff. Staff must take the initiative to meet, greet, and assist all members. Staff must be able to communicate and relate well with others. Staff are responsible for customer service, standard operations, monitoring, and cleanliness of the JCC Fitness Center.

Under the direction of the Head Swim Coach, the Assistant Swim Coach, assists in developing, organizing and implementing the JCC Swim Team. Responsibilities include providing competitive swimming instruction to swim team members in Novice to Age group swimming groups, organizing and conducting team workouts, and providing motivation support and guidance. (Part-time)
Under the direction of the Senior Director of Fitness, personal trainers will be primarily responsible for taking on existing clients based on need, as well as soliciting new business and teaching JCC members about the benefits of personal training in an effort to grow our personal training business. This position requires the incumbent to work a flexible work week schedule throughout the year, including evenings and weekends. This schedule will be determined weekly based on the client needs, meetings and other JCC duties.

Seeking a dynamic and passionate Les Mills Instructor to join our fitness team. As a Les Mills Instructor, you will be responsible for leading energetic and engaging group fitness classes based on Les Mills programs. Your primary goal is to inspire and motivate participants, helping them achieve their fitness objectives while delivering a high-energy and enjoyable workout experience.
A certifications instructor would be responsible for administering and teaching American Red Cross Certification Classes. The instructor must be up to date in all American Red Cross protocols and comfortable teaching both blended and in-person lesson. The instructor would be responsible for teaching the course, set-up, and clean-up of necessary equipment for the course and submitting course records for the assigned course.
Under the supervision of the Senior Director of Operations, the Park Heights Aquatics Supervisor is primarily responsible for the administration and management of the aquatics program at the Weinberg Park Heights JCC. This includes management of all full and part time aquatics staff at the facility, administration of aquatic programming (including, but not limited to learn-to-swim for children and adults, water aerobics, health and safety training courses, and advanced certifications for aquatics professionals), and maintaining the highest standards of safety and customer service with regards to all programming, facilities, and equipment.
Under the direct supervision of the Welcome Desk Supervisor, the Member and Guest Services Associate is primarily responsible for delivering the highest quality of customer service to all members and guests at the JCC. This position is the first point of contact to all members and guests and requires being responsive to members needs while possessing extensive knowledge of the JCC. This person is responsible for being fully knowledgeable about the center and its programs/services, delivering the highest level of service to our members and potential members/guests with professionalism, and ensuring that we adhere to the values and mission of the JCC.
The Member Services Sales Coordinator is responsible for the promotion and sales of memberships and programs to our current and potential members. The Member Services Sales Coordinator will develop relationships with prospective members, current members, and other groups in the community to grow our membership revenue.
This position is responsible for being fully knowledgeable about the center and its programs/services, delivering the highest level of customer service to our members and potential members/guests, exemplifying professionalism, and ensuring adherence to the values and mission of the JCC.

This is a part-time position, 3 days/evenings per week, up to 25 hours, at the Park Heights JCC campus.
J Play is a program of the JCC with a division offering babysitting services to members and guests, offering piece-of-mind while they work out or attend programming at the J, knowing their children will be safe, nurtured and entertained in our fully-equipped babysitting room. These services are offered for up to 2 hours per visit.
The Babysitters are responsible for the care, supervision and feeding of children ages three months to five years of age. Engaging play supplies (including but not limited to books, “real life” toy sets, and arts & crafts) are provided by the JCC.
As a Lead Teacher you will use your knowledge of child development, curriculum, Judaism, and/or the community to help your colleagues in their development. Lead Teachers are responsible for monitoring the development and learning of the children, and for communicating this information to parents and Director. Lead Teachers also supervise and provide guidance to classroom volunteers.
J Early Childhood teaching staff has the educational qualifications, knowledge, and professional commitment necessary to promote children’s learning and development and to support families’ diverse needs and interests. Assistant Teachers have the educational qualifications, knowledge, dedication to learning, and professional commitment necessary to promote children and their families as they learn and develop. The assistant teacher supports the development and implementation of a quality educational program reflecting the goals and values of the school. The assistant teacher contributes knowledge and insight, ideas and creativity to the teaching team. The assistant teacher brings a love of children and of learning and commitment to introducing children to a supportive, creative Jewish learning environment, and is well versed in child development.
The Administrative Assistant supports the Operations and Administrative Coordinator in maintaining and efficiently running the school office at the JCC’s Stoler Early Learning Center. In this role, the Administrative Assistant supports the school leadership team and educators in daily needs and attends to the clerical and administrative needs of the program.
This position will be expected to interact professionally with the children, families, and staff. This role is highly visible, often the first point of contact for families interested in joining our preschool or Noah’s Ark Summer Camp. This is a part-time position that demands strong organizational and interpersonal skills and the ability to create and maintain a positive, welcoming school environment.
J Camps, located at the JCC of Greater Baltimore, is looking for energetic, dedicated staff members who are interested in working in a fun, creative camp environment this summer. Our programming has a variety of focuses including aquatics, arts & culture, athletics, nature, science and more with a foundation of Judaism. In addition, our training includes child development workshops, skill sharing, and certification in Basic Water Safety and CPR. We hire on a rolling basis.
Our main summer season is June 24 – August 16, 2024, and we offer excellent camper discounts for summer staff. While most of our positions are full-time, we do have a few that run for only select weeks.
The Front of House Staff is responsible overseeing all public areas of the Gordon Theater including managing the flow of patrons in and out of the Gordon Theater, operating the concessions, and/or working in the box office. This position will oversee all volunteer ushers, assuring an exceptional experience for all patrons. The Front of House Staff is the first level of supervision for the ushers in front of house theater operations.
During the school year, the Center for Arts & Culture at the JCC of Greater Baltimore offers an array of classes in dance and theatre, ranging in ages from 3 to 15 on the Rosenbloom OwingsMills Campus. These classes include, but are not limited to, production-based programs such as our current shows of Frog & Toad Kids and Matilda Jr, improv acting, devised theatre, tap, ballet, jazz, hip-hop, and more.
Under the supervision of the Director of Youth Arts Education, the ideal candidate is enthusiastic and has an appreciation for the performing arts, is prepared to be a role model, loves working with children, and has a can-do demeanor. This internship will give candidates the opportunity to gain experience assisting classes, expand their resume and knowledge in dance and theatre education and administration.
Prior experience working with children and within dance or theatre is preferred but not required. Interns preferably have after-school weekday and/or Sunday availability. This is an unpaid position.

The Rosenbloom Owings Mills JCC Children’s Theatre Production Company (CTPC) is seeking a Music Director for the upcoming 2024/2025 fiscal year. The ideal candidate is an arts education professional who will work closely with the Arts & Culture staff to help build upon and expand all JCC CTPC programming that involves music. The ideal musical director is prepared and eager to be a role model within their field, for the Center of Arts & Culture, and the JCC as a whole.
The JCC Children’s Theatre Production Company (CTPC) is seeking a director for the upcoming 2024 CTPC Kids production of Jungle Book Kids (grades 1-2) that will perform on an intimate stage-like space with the basic theatrical elements. The director will work alongside selected production assistants to help run rehearsals, review material, work backstage for the production, and any other duties assigned to them in relation to the show.
The JCC Children’s Theatre Production Company (CTPC) is seeking Production Assistants for the upcoming CTPC productions of Jungle Book Kids and Newsies Jr. Production assistants are eager to help to the best of their ability with every aspect of rehearsal, tech, and shows—helping onstage and backstage to ensure the professional quality and flow of every rehearsal, technical rehearsal, and performance.
The JCC Children’s Theatre Production Company (CTPC) is seeking a set designer/carpenter for the upcoming CTPC Jr/Teen production of Newsies Jr. that will perform on the Gordon Stage in January 2025.
The ideal candidate is a children’s or professional theatre technician who is willing to work closely with the Arts & Culture staff to help ensure the show design and process for the musical. Experience working with and for children is helpful, but not required. Having an offsite facility where pieces can be constructed and stored, is preferred.

The Senior Director of Finance/Controller serves as the hands-on leader of our finance team. This position is responsible for oversight and management of the finance team, leading the day-to-day finance operations, including accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll, preparing the financial reporting package, and ensuring the financial aspects of the department are well-managed. The Senior Director interacts frequently with the CFO, CEO and the Board and is heavily involved in the budget and audit processes.
Under the supervision of the maintenance supervisor, the repairman is primarily responsible for the repair and maintenance of the JCC buildings, and the machinery and equipment located at the JCC buildings.
