Fitness, Sports & Aquatics
The occupation of lifeguard encompasses the duties of rescuing swimmers in danger of drowning, the monitoring of activities at a swimming pool to prevent accidents, the teaching of water safety through the communication of rules and policies, and providing assistance to patrons. Lifeguards may also help to maintain order and cleanliness in the pool and pool areas, give instructions to swimmers, conduct or officiate at swimming meets, and administer first aid. Additional ancillary lifeguard duties may include checking in and out such items as towels, rings, watches and apparel to lost and found. Lifeguards must be able to use a ladder to access and descend from the lifeguard chair; use hand tools to clean the pool and pool area; and test and record water quality for temperature and/or pH levels, using all of the tools of the testing process including adding chemicals to the test water sample.

The Fitness Center Staff are the face of JCC Fitness! They are the front line and hold the great responsibility of being able to make or break a member’s experience at the J. The safety and experience of all members is the top priority of the Staff. Staff must take the initiative to meet, greet, and assist all members. Staff must be able to communicate and relate well with others. Staff are responsible for customer service, standard operations, monitoring, and cleanliness of the JCC Fitness Center.

Under the direction of the Head Swim Coach, the Assistant Swim Coach, assists in developing, organizing and implementing the JCC Swim Team. Responsibilities include providing competitive swimming instruction to swim team members in Novice to Age group swimming groups, organizing and conducting team workouts, and providing motivation support and guidance. (Part-time)
Under the direction of the Senior Director of Fitness, personal trainers will be primarily responsible for taking on existing clients based on need, as well as soliciting new business and teaching JCC members about the benefits of personal training in an effort to grow our personal training business. This position requires the incumbent to work a flexible work week schedule throughout the year, including evenings and weekends. This schedule will be determined weekly based on the client needs, meetings and other JCC duties.

Seeking a dynamic and passionate Les Mills Instructor to join our fitness team. As a Les Mills Instructor, you will be responsible for leading energetic and engaging group fitness classes based on Les Mills programs. Your primary goal is to inspire and motivate participants, helping them achieve their fitness objectives while delivering a high-energy and enjoyable workout experience.
A certifications instructor would be responsible for administering and teaching American Red Cross Certification Classes. The instructor must be up to date in all American Red Cross protocols and comfortable teaching both blended and in-person lesson. The instructor would be responsible for teaching the course, set-up, and clean-up of necessary equipment for the course and submitting course records for the assigned course.
Member & Guest Services
Are you passionate about delivering top-notch customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere? Under the guidance of the Assistant Director of Member and Guest Services, on the weekends you’ll be the primary contact for all members and guests, ensuring their needs are met with professionalism and warmth. Your role includes giving tours, selling memberships, responding to inquiries, and promoting JCC programs. You’ll also handle manager-on-duty issues, maintain office organization, and ensure a safe and secure environment. If you have a customer-centric attitude, exceptional interpersonal skills, and the ability to multitask, we want you on our team!
Early Childhood – Preschool
As a Lead Teacher you will use your knowledge of child development, curriculum, Judaism, and/or the community to help your colleagues in their development. Lead Teachers are responsible for monitoring the development and learning of the children, and for communicating this information to parents and Director. Lead Teachers also supervise and provide guidance to classroom volunteers.
J Early Childhood teaching staff has the educational qualifications, knowledge, and professional commitment necessary to promote children’s learning and development and to support families’ diverse needs and interests. Assistant Teachers have the educational qualifications, knowledge, dedication to learning, and professional commitment necessary to promote children and their families as they learn and develop. The assistant teacher supports the development and implementation of a quality educational program reflecting the goals and values of the school. The assistant teacher contributes knowledge and insight, ideas and creativity to the teaching team. The assistant teacher brings a love of children and of learning and commitment to introducing children to a supportive, creative Jewish learning environment, and is well versed in child development.
The Early Childhood Behavior Support Specialist is a trained and certified member of the Stoler Early Learning Center team dedicated to supporting the needs of the children in the school.
The Early Childhood Behavior Support Specialist will provide behavior, social, and emotional services to children by assessing and evaluating their individual needs, curriculum needs, and staff training in order to increase positive, safe, pro-social behaviors and relationships among children, solve problems, and facilitate the delivery of professional services. This position will model and implement prevention and intervention strategies and training to facilitate the highest quality of Jewish Early Childhood experiences and support to the Stoler ELC students, educators, and families.
Youth & Teens

The Program Associate role is a unique position that develops creative, outside-the-box educators and empowers them to lead and grow our next generation of changemakers through a global fellowship and service-oriented teen opportunities. The Program Associate will spend the majority of their time on the Diller Teen Fellows program while also supporting additional Jewish teen programs and engagement, including leading a Teen Service Council.
4Front is seeking a motivated and organized Part-Time Program Assistant to support our full-time Program Coordinator in running our Jewish teen entrepreneurship program, the Social Innovation Fellowship. The Program Assistant will attend all program meetings and experiences to serve as supportive second staff, as well as assist with administrative tasks, program planning, participant engagement, and other duties to ensure the program’s success. This role is ideal for someone with a passion for entrepreneurship and an interest in helping Jewish high-schoolers learn and grow.

The Weinberg Park Heights JCC will be running weekly themed youth programming for children ages 6-10 years throughout the summer of 2024 –July 1 through August 21. Programs will run for girls on Mondays (with female staff) and boys on Wednesdays (with male staff). Dinner will be served by the Group Leaders at the latter part of the program; Group Leaders may also eat dinner. Hours will be roughly 4:00-7:00pm depending on the set-up and clean-up needs of programs each week; some flexibility may be needed.
J Camps
J Camps, located at the JCC of Greater Baltimore, is looking for energetic, dedicated staff members who are interested in working in a fun, creative camp environment this summer. Our programming has a variety of focuses including aquatics, arts & culture, athletics, nature, science and more with a foundation of Judaism. In addition, our training includes child development workshops, skill sharing, and certification in Basic Water Safety and CPR. We hire on a rolling basis.
Our main summer season is June 24 – August 16, 2024, and we offer excellent camper discounts for summer staff. While most of our positions are full-time, we do have a few that run for only select weeks.
Jewish Life
This role has the exciting responsibility of leading joyful Jewish experiences for the diverse J Camps Community. In partnership with year-round J life department, using experiential education and other methods, they will ground activities and interactions in Jewish values. They will inspire an appreciation for Jewish peoplehood to elevate the overall J Camps platform.
The position will run full-time from June 24 – August 16, 2024.
Arts & Culture
The Front of House Staff is responsible overseeing all public areas of the Gordon Theater including managing the flow of patrons in and out of the Gordon Theater, operating the concessions, and/or working in the box office. This position will oversee all volunteer ushers, assuring an exceptional experience for all patrons. The Front of House Staff is the first level of supervision for the ushers in front of house theater operations.
During the school year, the Center for Arts & Culture at the JCC of Greater Baltimore offers an array of classes in dance and theatre, ranging in ages from 3 to 15 on the Rosenbloom OwingsMills Campus. These classes include, but are not limited to, production-based programs such as our current shows of Frog & Toad Kids and Matilda Jr, improv acting, devised theatre, tap, ballet, jazz, hip-hop, and more.
Under the supervision of the Director of Youth Arts Education, the ideal candidate is enthusiastic and has an appreciation for the performing arts, is prepared to be a role model, loves working with children, and has a can-do demeanor. This internship will give candidates the opportunity to gain experience assisting classes, expand their resume and knowledge in dance and theatre education and administration.
Prior experience working with children and within dance or theatre is preferred but not required. Interns preferably have after-school weekday and/or Sunday availability. This is an unpaid position.

Based on availability, performing arts assistants attend theatre and/or dance classes that require extra support.
Prior experience working with children and within dance or theatre is preferred but not required. PA’s preferably have after-school weekday and/or Sunday availability.
Operations
Under the supervision of the maintenance supervisor, the repairman is primarily responsible for the repair and maintenance of the JCC buildings, and the machinery and equipment located at the JCC buildings.
The JCC seeks a highly organized, resourceful, flexible and positive team player to assist their busy Marketing team. This individual will be helping our team stay on top of projects by providing basic design and social media support, updating our websites, generating quarterly digital marketing reports, posting events to online calendars, gathering and uploading marketing collateral from partners and clients and handling a variety of other administrative tasks.
