Power up at the J!

At the J we want to help children de­velop active, positive lifestyles. In­tegrating knowledge and activity will help show children that exercise is important to their well-being and increase the chance that physical activity will be­come a permanent part of their daily lives.

Please note during this time fitness activities are for JCC Members only and must be scheduled in advance through our special scheduling system. Find the schedule you are looking for at jcc.org/schedules.

Once youth, ages 9-15 take these free fitness center orientation settings they wil be able to reserve a time to work out in our fitness centers.

Ages 9-11
Now youth as young as age nine will be able to utilize the cardio equipment in the fitness center under the direct supervision of a parent/guardian. The youngster and a parent/guardian must complete a special one-hour welcome workout together first.

Jr. Weight Training

Ages 12-15 
Teens learn proper techniques and protocol for using our cardio and weight machines in these three, one-hour sessions. Completion of this training allows them independent access to our Fitness Center including cardio equipment, selectorized equipment and Hammer Strength plate loaded equipment.  Must be 16 or older to use free weight area.

Our gyms are open on weeknights (OM JCC only) and weekend hours (both JCCs) for up to four members to shoot hoops on each of our four side baskets. For health reasons, no games or contact between players will be allowed at this time. Please note, each individual will need to preregister with separate emails. Teens, ages 13+ can book up to three, 45-minute sessions in our indoor pool. When the Aquatics Park opens on May 15, they can book up to five sessions a week in our outdoor pools.
